Hospitality Industry Law – Protecting Today’s Meeting Planner’s Best Interests

|
Hospitality Industry Law spans meeting issues including hotel law, risk management, security, food and liquor service liability and employment law. Most meeting planner contracts with hotels cover force majeure and address hotel strikes, but the language is usually very vague. With the strikes that recently happened at major hotel properties in San Francisco, as well as events that are impending at other destinations, there are more precautions that planners should be taking in their contracts in order to protect their groups.
Additionally, Intellectual Property (IP) is a rapidly developing and important area of law. With the growth of the Internet, the globalization of trade, and the growing significance of technology, no modern hospitality industry business can afford to ignore this issue. From trademark and trade name clearance, protection and licensing, trade dress (the layout, appearance, and look and feel of a place of business) identification and protection, to trade secret protection, Pat Schaumann and attorney, Scott Casanover will offer practical guidance for your intellectual property interests.
Meeting planners are now facing the reality of needing to better protect their interests by having a general understanding of Hospitality Industry Law, protecting Intellectual Property, and knowing when to bring in legal counsel to reword force majeure clauses in contracts with language about conditions, ramifications to the planner, penalties and other such information when necessary.
Join us for a 90-Minute audio conference as Pat Schaumann and Scott Casanover address current concerns and ramifications regarding legal issues within the hospitality industry. You will also have time to ask questions specific to your situation during our live Question and Answer session.
